As many of you know, unless I'm out of town, I sit here on the deck and share some cybersecurity tips, tricks and hints with you to provide some practical things that you can do to help keep yourself, your family and your company safer from cyber criminals. I'd like to introduce you to a cybersecurity framework that TechSage Solutions is basically followed for many years to help keep our company and team pretty safe from the many cyber threats that are out there.

If your company, no matter how large or small it is, doesn't have a requirement to follow any specific cybersecurity compliance framework, I highly recommend adopting this one to help make and keep your company safer from the current high cybersecurity threat environment. What is a cybersecurity framework? At a high level it provides a common language for understanding, managing and expressing cybersecurity risks for your company, both internally and externally. You can use it to help identify and prioritize actions for reducing the cybersecurity risk in your company. The key is that it's a guide that helps provide a set of activities to help you achieve specific cybersecurity outcomes and gives you examples of how to achieve those outcomes.

The cybersecurity framework starts with the cybersecurity activities at their highest level called functions. These high level functions are identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover. Well, I think I've exposed you to enough information for today. In the coming weeks, we'll talk about the high level functions a bit more.
